When the lights go down, downtown Springfield comes to life with bustling nightlife activities, restaurants and things to do. If you’re looking for a night on the town, downtown has much to offer.
Food & Drink
With dozens of restaurants conveniently located in the center of the city, many of Springfield’s tastiest menu items are within walking distance. For comfort food, Casper’s Diner is home to some of the best chili in town perfect for a cold fall or winter day. For insane burgers and boozy milkshakes, Black Sheep Burgers cooks up some of the tallest burger concoctions you’ve ever seen. Tasty grilled cheese sandwiches can be found at Druff’s, a small diner that grills up different grilled cheese recipes each week.
For fine dining options, The Order at Hotel Vandivort offers a wide Sunday brunch menu along with dinner options such as the fresh catch of the day and tender lamb chops.
Head to Flame Steakhouse & Wine Bar for melt-in-your-mouth filet mignon and delicious cuts of steak to celebrate an anniversary, graduation, or just to enjoy a great cut of meat.
You can never go wrong with dessert. Hurt’s Donuts is known for crazy and insane donut flavors and toppings such as toasted marshmallow, cookie monster and maple bacon.
Sit down and have a cup of coffee, macaron or fruit tart at European Cafe.
Things To Do
After dinner and dessert, take a step back in time at 1984, a nostalgic arcade that’s home to childhood favorite video games such as Space Invaders, Smash TV and an array of pinball machines.
Besides video games, visitors can throw axes at Craft Axe Throwing, make pottery at Springfield Pottery, or shop for fun t-shirts and souvenirs at 5 Pound Apparel.
Finally, Springfield is home to several performing arts theaters like the Landers Theatre that showcases popular plays and musicals put on by The Springfield Little Theatre. The Historic Gillioz Theater located on Route 66 is also home to several live music events, plays, and “The Mystery Hour” a live Ozark late night talk-show hosted by local Jeff Houghton.
Movie lovers have the choice between two movie theaters downtown, one being the Moxie Cinema, a locally owned theater that showcases various art films and popular headlining movies for an intimate movie experience. AMC Theaters is just down the street to see the newest films released.
Nightlife
Night Club goers have multiple choices to attend such as The Boogie, Vintage Dance Lounge, Ernie Biggs Piano Bar, Zan The Club and Martha’s Vineyard.
To end out the night, head to Vantage Rooftop Lounge & Conservatory for drinks overlooking the downtown skyline. With a menu full of sharable plates and intricately made cocktails, Vantage is perfect for an evening out with friends or a significant other on the town.
